When you think of SeaWorld, you think of Shamu, Dolphins and Penguin exhibits, right? Well, wrong. This past summer, SeaWorld and other Southern California theme parks revamped and enhanced their parks with new rides and attractions. San Diego built a roller coaster called, Manta.

The sleepy little town of San Diego which hosts SeaWorld just built an adrenaline – filled roller coaster ride called, Manta. This ride is a perfect combination of roller coaster plus sea life exhibit; which makes it great for the family member that doesn’t want to ride. The roller coaster wraps around an outdoor aquarium that allows visitors to have a “hands on” approach and pet one of the many bat rays that cruise around the water exhibit. There are walking tours complete with SeaWorld staff that educates the visitor on the Bat Ray environment

As for me, I love Manta, the roller coaster ride. This ride will fulfill any adventure junkie that likes a coaster that is both fast and fun.



Don’t get me wrong; SeaWorld is still a great place to visit the animal kingdom. The park is always clean and family friendly for families of all ages. My tweens and teens are still drawn to Shamu and you can always bet a good soaking when you sit in the front four rows during the show. I had a great time with my family and recommend riding, Manta.

San Diego weather this time of year is sunny, breezy and cooler. The park is located within a mile of the beaches, so there is a predictable ocean breeze that will be cooler this time of year, so be prepared for cooler weather.
